Due to complaints recently about a "Virus" on the site i've decided to fix this once and for all. I personally check every aspect of every game that comes though this site using a Virtual Machine of Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 using an array of Anti-Virus applications.
NOD32, Kaspersky, AVG and Microsoft Windows Live OneCare.
I use these applications because they use a standardised scanning system for processing different files algorithms (like RAR files for example), it can look for malicious code inside the file, unlike Norton and McAfee that have to wait for the code to activate before they can detect it, thus giving the virus ample time to destroy your data or disable your anti-virus.

Recommended Anti-Virus
For Advanced Users
By advanced I mean people who know what the Windows Registry is and are able to use it to modify the system to suit their needs and requirements. For these people, I recommend NOD32, very customisable and has the fastest scanning engine on the planet
For Moderate Users
By that I mean people that use their PC every day and browse the Web, play games, but make no attempt at modifying System Variables. For these people, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Slow scanning engine but it's the best detection rate
For Low end users
For somebody that checks their e-mails and occasionaly watches Shemale porn from AnimePhilia :bravo:, AVG Anti-Virus, Good detection rate, Good speed but easy to compromise.

Anti-Virus I DO NOT RECOMMEND
Norton Anti-Virus - Easily the worst Anti-Viral scanner in the world. Norton Anti-Virus uses a massive amount of System Memory and is bloated out with features that nobody will ever need yet lacks the features required for system operation.
For example Norton modifies the heart of Windows (the kernel) thus making your system unstable. Are you getting random crashes and instabilities in applications? It's norton
McAfee Anti-Virus - Ditto as said for Norton AV, awful awful awful system
Sophos - Have you ever seen a good review? LMAO
Windows Live OneCare - A little on the slow side, but otherwise very good, I just wouldnt use this in a production environment.

Final Advice
Why use a virus infected system like shity Windows? Get a Mac

If you have any questions about Anti-Viral software just post it here and i'll be happy to answer any questions to the best of my abilities, I personally dont use Anti-Virus on any of my production machines because when you know most of the inner workings of an operating system, you dont really need it, it's just common sense at the end of the day.

Microsot OneCare really isn;t meant for an enterprise environment. When they purchased Whale technologies they rebranded their enterprise level sweet as the ForeFront prodcuts. Id you have ever administered an environment with McAfee of Symantec.... you will prefer ForeFront

if Mac Control the market instead of PC
Then Mac Would have Problems with virus's,spyware and much more
the reason Mac does not have problems with these yet because it is small

Nice guide, I use AVAST, it has a piratey name.

One thing I disagree with is the get a Mac statement. They are specilist machines in my opinion, I would say if your going to do graphics / video editing or anything else along those lines then yes get a Mac. But a bit pricey if you want to surf the web and check e-mail, I know windows isn't cheap but doesn't have compulsary mark up on hardware price! Or if you want get linux?

Sorry for the rant, I work with computers and this kinda thing grinds my gears.

Peace.

I'm highly experience in what's programing (java is my main language on compu) and I really recommend Kaspersky Anti-Virus plus Kaspersky Internet Security. :)

I personally use Avast Anti-Virus since
A. It was made by an ex-hacker
B. It does virus scan on screensaver
C. It's simple to use and has amazing protection.

Hmmm I dislike Kaspersky because Once I have received trojian from which Kaspersky protect could not, and this trojian first of all has killed antivirus since then I more never use Kaspersky, besides it demands very many resources of the computer, and demands for the greater efficiency of enough deep adjustment.
Now i use combination for great defence is - firewall Outpost anв NOD32 antivirus, though I should recognize that NOD32 is not best antivirus, It has many lacks.

For German Users i can advise Antivir from Avira. It is for free for private person.
Furthermore you should use the free tools "Spybot Search & Destroy" and "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" , both are very good antitrojan programs (good in combination)

Hi,
Norton is one of the worst. But the 2k9 version is a lot better.
I use Avast! It's free and one of the best antivirus soft.

Nod32 is my pick. Uses very little resources and doesn't usually pick up any false positives. Combine Nod32 with Spybot S&D on your system, and you're set! =D
