God, I love GITS. I've seen the first movie, GITS: SAC and GIT:SAC 2. I just need to watch the 2nd movie and the new series/movie that's come out.

Yeah, I wanna see SSS. It's only on torrents atm in Japanese. I've watched the entire GITS in English so far, so it feels wierd watching in Japanese.

I saw the orignal movie and I have seen the SAC series on adult swim via cartoon network. I keep thinking to myself, I think I really know why the Major likes her current body so much. She just doesn't say much on it.

I can't wait to see solid state society as i was a big fan of SAC 1 and 2 as well as the movie. The manga goes in a totally different direction though. I wonder if SSS will focus on the corporate side of the GITS universe like the second manga volume did.

2nd Gig is really good, as is the 1st season. Solid State Society is also really good.

I just joined and read about the 2 girls with Motoko, so i searched for it. It is in episode 5, i attached some pics for proof. And yes i know it was asked ages ago and yes i have not figured out how to quote, yet.

I have 3 books from the series. The one with the story from the first movie, then "Man Machine Interface" and "The Lost Memory" from SAC.
And finally pics with Batou.

Yoko Kanno's music for this series is absolutely outstanding, and SaC had some really, really good writing. It's a shame the movies weren't really up to the same standard, since most people start with them.

one of my favourite animes, the films were great (didn't enjoy innocence as much, but still good) and I loved the series, never a boring moment

I haven't seen the series, though have heard that they are a little bit dissapointing. The same thing goes for the second OVA
But it is never too late to watch :)

Stand Alone Complex is my fav. The movies seemed too compressed compared to the manga, but SAC had better pacing.

The Original Movie was brilliant but i found that SAC filled the craving for more GITS and thats why alot of people think more highly of SAC.

Wow its great that there's a thread on GITS. The movies were great but nothing beats the series. Been a fan of Saito for quite sometime now... and still do think he's the best man in the squad (second by Batou).

The original Ghost in the Shell graphic novel was my introduction to manga, and literally changed the way I viewed not only the medium of comic books and science fiction, but humanity as a whole and the possibilities of our future. That being the case, I was sorely disappointed by the anime adaptation and felt it lacked so much of what made the manga great (including my beloved Fuchikomas). I think Stand Alone Complex (particularly Solid State Society) comes much closer to the original source material.
